Can I rename a feature gate in Statsig?
In the context of managing feature gates within Statsig, the ability to rename an existing feature or experiment is not permitted.
This restriction is in place to avoid potential errors that could arise from renaming a feature that is already being referenced in the codebase, which could lead to the feature gate not returning the correct values.
If there is a need to change the name of a feature gate that has not yet been deployed, the recommended approach is to clone the existing feature gate and assign it the desired new name. This action will result in the creation of a new feature gate with the same configuration rules as the original, but it is important to note that the historical data and metrics associated with the original feature gate will not be transferred to the new gate.
