Boolean is a data type that represents one of two possible values: true or false. It's named after George Boole, the mathematician who first defined an algebraic system of logic in the mid 19th century.

How to use it in a sentence

I was up all night debugging this new feature - I thought the boolean flag for enabling it was set to true, but it turned out to be false. Classic mistake, should have just used a boolean literal instead of relying on some variable buried deep in the legacy codebase.

My coworker keeps arguing we should use a string instead of a boolean for this API parameter, but I think that's just asking for trouble - next thing you know, some joker is gonna pass in "FILE_NOT_FOUND" and we'll be scratching our heads wondering why it's not working.
