GENERAL

Can users be manually assigned to Control and Test groups in Statsig experiments?

Date of slack thread: 6/11/24

Anonymous: Hi Team, We are looking to run an experiment that tests whether receiving a piece of physical media will improve site engagement, and have a predefined list of Test and Control users based on their emails. We have looked into using segments and a targeting gate for those in a segment, but it appears that you can only include one segment of overall users in a targeting gate and we can’t allow users to be randomly allocated to a variant. Is there a way to manually configure users to be in Control and Test groups in Statsig?

We evaluated Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Split, and Eppo, but ultimately selected Statsig due to its comprehensive end-to-end integration. We wanted a complete solution rather than a partial one, including everything from the stats engine to data ingestion.
