Anonymous: QQ: If we create a new metric based on an event, does it backfill in time?
Statbot: When you create a new metric based on an event in Statsig, it does not automatically backfill historical data. Metrics are calculated based on the data from the point in time when they are created and going forward. If you need historical data for your new metric, you would need to use the data that was logged before the metric was created and apply the metric’s logic to that data outside of Statsig [source]. Vineeth Madhusudanan (Statsig): Hello Solar - What surface are you looking to use it in? Experimentation, Analytics?
Anonymous: Experimentation/Feature gate analytics
Vineeth Madhusudanan (Statsig): Experiment/Gates have lifts calculated only after the custom metric has been created on Statsig Cloud. Metrics Explorer often lets you go back in time since it supports formulae etc over a set of events you already have.
