Can I visualize variant performance throughout the user journey on Statsig using a Sankey chart?
At present, Statsig does not support the use of Sankey charts for visualizing user journeys. However, you can utilize funnel metrics to track user journeys within your application. These funnel metrics can be highly customized to provide insights into how changes influence each step of the user journey, either at the user level or at the session level.
To create funnels in Statsig, navigate to Metrics -> Explore -> select “Funnel” in the dropdown menu. Please note that this is a beta feature and currently does not support having experiment exposures in the steps. However, this is a feature we are considering for future development in our analytics offerings.
While visualizations like Sankey charts can be useful, they often struggle to effectively represent small changes, such as 5% deltas, in experimentation. Therefore, even if the conversion rate doubled (+100%), it might still be challenging to spot in a Sankey chart. We are actively investigating this area and are open to customer feedback to find an ideal visualization method.
